Baltic Sea winter traverse
ARCTIC (Finland) March 2, 2017
A team of 3 in total autonomy crossing the Bothnian Golf in the Baltic sea in winter. The traverse started at Oulu (FIN) heading North to Kemi (FIN), covering approximately 100Km. Finland is the only country in the world, where all the ports freeze during the winter.During the coldest periods of normal winters the temperature can drop even below – 30°C. For the traverse pulkas weights between 25 and 40 kilos. Pulling a pulka of this weight is not a big effort, has nothing to do with the fact to carry a same weight backpack. The temperature may reach or even exceed -20º C. We will sleep all nights in a tent. Pako Crestas, Pepe Ivars and Albert Bosch with the technical support of Alex S Casanovas.
